Voice messages just got more private

To add another layer of privacy to your messages, we're introducing a single view for photos and videos in 2021. Today we're excited to announce that you can now send voice messages that disappear as soon as you hear them.

 

Whether you're reading your credit card information to a friend or planning a surprise gift, you can now confidently share sensitive information via voicemail. For consistency with “View Once” photos and videos, “View Once” voice messages are clearly marked with a “Once” icon and can only be played once.

 

As with all private messages, WhatsApp protects voice messages with end-to-end encryption by default, and Look Once is another example of its continued innovation in privacy.
